The studio — how each piece is made

This page exists to show the work is made, not just posted. Here is exactly how a Kex Art piece goes from an idea to something on your wall.

1. Generation

Each piece begins as an AI-generated image, developed through many iterations — adjusting subject, composition, palette and light until a direction earns its place. Most generations never leave the studio; a typical published work is chosen from dozens that were set aside.

2. Curation and refinement

Generation is the easy part; judgement is the work. We select for balance, colour relationships and whether a piece still reads well at print size. Chosen images are cleaned up and prepared at high resolution so detail holds when enlarged.

3. Colour management

Screens lie, and a print that doesn’t match the preview is a bad experience. We soft-proof to the paper profile and check colour under neutral light before anything is offered for sale, so the export you see is the file you receive — no grading, no “flattering” filters.

4. Editioning

Works are released as numbered, limited editions. Once an edition sells out, it’s closed. Each order includes an edition record — title, size, medium (AI-generated), edition number and date. It documents the edition honestly; it is not a certificate claiming the piece was hand-painted.

5. Printing and finishing

Prints are produced to order as archival giclée on cotton-rag paper or as gallery canvas, with pigment inks rated for longevity. Each is inspected, then packed flat or rolled depending on size.

What we won’t do

We won’t apply “paint texture” filters to imply a brush, won’t invent a human artist, and won’t sell an AI image as an original hand-made painting. The process above is the real one.
